KC and the Sunshine Band

KC and the Sunshine Band

I’ve never been much of a follower of KC and the Sunshine Band, but after seeing them perform live 30 years after their prime, I can certainly see why they were so popular back in the disco days. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but the show turned out to be quite entertaining and hearing the old songs also brought back feelings of nostalgia. I am amazed that even at age 57, KC – whose full name as I just learned is actually Harry Wayne Casey – was able to keep such a high level of positive energy during his entire performance. Given that he is now the only original member of the group, the band still put on a great show. Of course, what would KC and the Sunshine Band be without the backup dancers who were probably the core entertainment for a lot of the guys in the room…

Fun with a Photobooth

Here are some images shot over the last couple of days with our photo booth setup. Your guests will really get a kick out of this and its a great way to capture the fun and energy of your event without us sticking our cameras everywhere. Of course we have a lot of fun too……

Engagement Shoot: Lee & Megan

meghan-2.jpgmeghan-1.jpgmeghan-4.jpgmehgan-engage-5.jpg

Just wrapped an engagement shoot first…. Joining us at Spring Mountain Ranch in Red Rock canyon were the couples two dogs Harley & Diesel. Megan told me they were house dogs? I’m guessing Megan & Lee have a big house! Great dogs…, and a great couple as you can see by the photographs. I’m looking forward to photographing their wedding here in Vegas in April.

New Orleans

new-orleans-1.jpgnew-orleans-6.jpgnew-orleans2.jpgnew-orleans-3.jpgnew-orleans-4.jpgA recent visit to Crescent City was an inspiring break. This was my first visit in years and I was pleasantly surprised to find that the city hasn’t changed too much. Traveling during off-season has its perks, but it also has its down sides. Much of what we were hoping to see wasn’t going on yet – the major one being the Farmers Market section of the French Market. It also happened that this trip coincided with the NBA All-Star 2008, so we got to see New Orleans at its busiest and best. The food of course was amazing. We could have spent a month there and still not have the time to try everything, but we did manage to hit up a few of the must-do’s at the top of our list including Commanders Palace, Camellia Grill, Brennan’s Restaurant, Brigtsen’s, Mother’s Restaurant, and a little hole-in-the-wall called Coop’s Place. Needless to say, we were never disappointed.

Bridal Spectacular Exhibit

Here’s a glance at our exhibit at the Bridal Spectacular show in Las Vegas January 25 & 26. We had a great time at the show and really enjoyed meeting many brides-to-be as well as other vendors. If you were an attendee at the show, we hope you had as good a time as we did and hopefully you found everything you were looking for.

Yellowstone for Christmas

We dont get to see much snow for christmas, so we decided to head to Yellowstone for a week to celibrate in the quiet solitude of nature. Just a few of the shots we were able to get while snowshoeing into the back country.

Photographing a President

Spent the morning photographing the President as he spoke to the 86th National American Legion Convention in Reno, Nevada yesterday. What an experience. The most amazing part was watching and working around the secret service agents. Some of the most polite people you will ever work with. That is one serious group of people with a very important job to do. It was kinda spooky but I had a great time. I really love my job.

My Summer Vacation #2: Arizona By John Morris

Well, we left the Grand Canyon and headed East and West. Petrified Forest, Painted Desert, and Monument Valley. The landscape out west is truly fascinating and I could spend weeks photographing 20 mile sections at a time. So much to see and it changes all the time. Being from Las Vegas, sometimes clouds are the most amazing things. We don’t get too many of those very often. Met a Lizard who was more than willing to pose for me and though I would get a shot of the car and mountain bikes. From here we head into Southern Colorado and Kansas. Will keep you posted……
